{mein kochkurs}

Die kleine Einweihungsfeier am Wochenende haben wir überlebt... es war schön, auch wenn ich den letzten Teil des Abends leider nur noch "ausgehalten" habe, weil es bei uns anscheinend zu gemütlich ist, als dass man zu "normalen" Zeiten gehen könnte. Ich fand's spannend, dass sich drei meiner Tandems untereinander kennen lernen konnten, schön, dass sie sich alle gut mit dem Rest gemischt haben, und außerdem toll, dass sie die besten Gäste waren!

Eigentlich lautete der "Auftrag" nur etwas zu Essen/Trinken mitzubringen (auch dass nur, wenn Zeit/Lust) vorhanden war, aber von Do habe ich trotzdem ein Geschenk bekommen... und ich mag ja Geschenke, bei denen jemand mitgedacht hat! Das Kochbuch (Keda Black "Mon Cours de Cuisine. Les Basiques" Marabout) ist wirklich schön gestaltet und ich habe mich gestern dabei erwischt, wie ich es immer wieder zur Hand genommen und durchgeblättert habe. Die Texte sind knapp gehalten, zu jedem Rezept gibt es Ideen für Abwandlungen oder "Weiterentwicklungen". Ich hoffe, mein Köchenfranzösisch verbessert sich dadurch, denn bei ewig langen Umschreibungen habe ich immer abgeschalten! "Gezeichnet" ist mein Exemplar auch... da es sehr heftig geregnet hat, ist das Geschenkpapier durchgeweicht und ich habe einen kleinen Wellenrand... mag ich aber... wird mich jetzt immer an Do und den Abend erinnern.

We survived the little moving-in party... it was nice, even if i had to be really strong for the last part of the evening (morning?) as it seems to be a little too comfortable here and people did not really want to leave. I was excited about the fact that three of my exchange partners could meet, happy that they mixed so well (also with the "rest") and fount it absolutely wonderful that they were simply the best guests!

I simply asked people to bring something to eat or drink (only if they wanted and had the time) but Do gave me a gift anyway... and i really like thoughtful gifts! This cook book (Keda Black "Mon Cours de Cuisine. Les Basiques" Marabout) is really nicely done, i'm in love with the "design" and layout. I caught myself several times yesterday just browsing the pages. Each of the descriptions is short and to the point - something i really like as i am hoping to improve my kitchen French and was never able to read long French recipes without falling asleep or loosing interest. I love that my book is already special. It rained a lot and because it got wet, there is a little wavy edge left... i like it... it will remind me of Do and the evening.
