l'atelier charonne

We did not want any gifts from our guests for the post wedding party. That some still got together and gave us a restaurant coupon was very nice. We finally used it and went to the Atelier Charonne for an evening of dining and music. The coupon covered the main course and the entertainment only but we treated ourselves to a nice dessert.
We were seated directly next to the stage but enjoyed the vegetable lasagne and the confit de canard without the band playing. Both dishes were delicious and i totally forgot to take pictures because we were so hungry. It was not that yummy looking anyway but the salad served with it was big enough to replace the starters. When our desserts came the music started... guitar, bass and violin. Jazz is not really my cup of tea but to watch the musicians how they played, throwing tunes and melodies at each other making little songs out of them was interesting and very entertaining. Especially the violin (and piano!) player Costel Nitescu was a delight.
All in all i would recommend to come here for a drink and the music. The food is rather expensive... we just hoped that most of it goes to the musicians.
